Money, money everywhere
Money is washing around your business in more forms than you might imagine. Cash is obvious, but overheads, outstanding invoices, disputed accounts, returned stock, damaged goods and above all, people are other forms of money that have to be managed - even micro managed.
If I took a £5 note, your £5 note, tore it in half in front of your very eyes and through it in the waste bin, you'd have a fit - and rightly so. Losing cash causes an immediate reaction. Why not that returned widget that cost you £200 gathering dust in the corner? Would you let me have it for £0 then? I'll handle it, repair it, re-sell it, repackage it and have it delivered; for say £120. Happy with that? I didn't think so. But it's still in the corner, right? Earning nothing right?
Could I suggest a quick whip round the corners of your empire looking for this type of money; you might be pleasantly surprised, and you might want to take me to dinner on it!
